From the Pastor's desk
Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time
As I am writing this, I am still with
the Companions of the Cross at our chapter meeting in Cornwall, Ontario.
Much of the things we are discussing (during these 10 hour days) is really
no great secret…in fact, it seems like very ordinary stuff; salary caps,
ministry options and the titles that we give to our leadership team. And
yet, I have to say, I am impressed with the way it is all being handled. You can really see the Spirit at work and I
have a new appreciation for the wisdom of the Church in how these issues have
been and continue to be dealt with in the faith. I would say there is
some of that in all of our lives…on the surface things seem simple
and ordinary, for the most part, but how we live those simple days is the stuff
that will make our eternity real. By the time you read this, I hope to be
back in the parish and back to my "ordinary" work, but I hope to keep
a new found appreciation for just how extraordinary “ordinary” can be
when we become more aware of the Holy Spirit and open to the movement of our
God.
Pax.
